Use the SEARCH TOOL to quickly find your pictures!

photo app tips Feb 21, 2023

I have been teaching photo classes in local communities for a couple of years and one of the things that always shocks people is how amazing the SEARCH TOOL is! People have seen it but never think to use it when they need to find a picture in a pinch

By simply typing in a keyword, your photo app will scroll through thousands of pictures, weeding out only the ones that match your criteria.

Imagine the time and stress this could save if you have ever experienced the frustration of scrolling and scrolling but never being able to find the picture you are looking for.

Example keywords to try:
  • People's names (if you have already labeled your favorites in your photo app)
  • The names of cities, states or countries you have traveled to
  • Car, airplane, boat, etc...
  • Football, soccer, pickle ball, golf, dance, gymnastics, etc...
  • Ocean, beach, palm tree, etc...
  • Wine, whiskey, beer, etc...
  • Dog, cat, etc...
  • Names of items such as table, shoes, lamp, etc...

Get creative and use words that fit your life, your hobbies, places you have traveled or anything else that applies to a picture you might want to quickly find and share

How to Use Search Tool

Apple Photos
  1. Open Apple Photos on your phone
  2. Click "Search" from the menu at the bottom of your screen
  3. Type in a keyword in the search box at the top of your screen
  4. Click the blue "search" button in the bottom right corner
  5. Once your photos populate, click the blue "See All" button to see all of your pictures that fit that search
  6. If the picture you are looking for doesn't show up, try a different search word (ex: instead of "beach" try "sand")

Google Photos
  1. Open Google Photos on your phone
  2. Click "Search" from the menu at the bottom of your screen
  3. Type in a keyword in the search box at the top of your screen
  4. Click the blue "search" button in the bottom right corner
  5. You can scroll through all of your pictures that populate
  6. If the picture you are looking for doesn't show up, try a different search word (ex: instead of "beach" try "sand")

The next time you need to find that one picture go to your SEARCH TOOL instead of scrolling!

Thanks again for all of your support! I feel so lucky that I get to do what I do and serve so many people through my business!

All the best,
